Yoga for Running Recovery Workshop

This workshop is dedicated to the practice of yoga as a tool for recovery from running.
This is designed for people running the AthHalf 5K and/or Half Marathon, and participants in this workshop can expect a gentle, calming practice geared towards race recovery. Restorative poses will be held for longer to work out muscular tension that builds up through distance running. You’ll leave with tips and tricks you can carry with you throughout your training to keep yourself healthy and strong for miles to come. This practice will help prepare the body and mind for additional relaxation and, yes, sleep.
Meet the Instructor

Melissa Whatley (she/her), Ph.D. and RYT-200, recently completed her 200-hour teacher training at Five Points Yoga and is currently pursuing her 300-hour certification. She is an avid runner, and uses yoga to balance and enhance her running practice. She is also a professor and researcher, and she uses yoga to provide balance to the rigors of academic life.
